Electric water heater installation covers both standard tank units and tankless electric systems, which don't require gas lines or venting the way gas units do, but come with their own considerations around electrical capacity. Electric units are common in homes without gas service, and tankless electric models in particular need a serious look at your home's electrical panel before installation, since they draw substantial amperage.
This service makes sense for new construction without gas service, homes replacing an aging electric unit, or anyone converting to tankless electric for the space savings and on-demand hot water without needing to run new gas lines. Electric tank units are also generally simpler and cheaper to install than gas, which matters if you're working with a tighter budget on a straightforward replacement.
We start by confirming your electrical panel has adequate capacity for the unit, especially critical for tankless electric units which can require significant dedicated amperage – this is the step that determines whether tankless electric is realistic for your home or whether a panel upgrade would be needed first. For tank units, we run the appropriate wiring and breaker, install and level the unit, connect water lines, and set the thermostat and pressure relief valve properly. For tankless electric, we mount the unit, run the required electrical connections, and plumb it in, testing flow and temperature performance before finishing.
Cost depends on tank size or tankless capacity, and whether your electrical panel can support the unit as-is or needs upgrading, particularly for tankless electric installations. Older homes in Boston, MA with dated electrical panels sometimes need capacity upgrades before a tankless electric unit is a realistic option.
Whether it's a straightforward tank swap or a tankless electric install, getting the electrical side right matters. Call (215) 449-8084 for an assessment and quote.
